Play….the 6th Vital sign?

At Ascend PT, we have a common thread - we love to play. Our office is filled with laughter and fun, but we also celebrate each other's adventures away from work. That’s because we understand that play has a crucial role in your overall well-being.

Don't just take our word for it though. In a recent short piece from NPR, play researcher and psychiatrist Stuart Brown explains that play is an essential need, just like sleep and nutrition. He states that "the need to play is in all of us" and that we all suffer when we don't experience it enough. Other researchers also argue that play helps with problem-solving and social cooperation.
