The Insurance Question

Ascend Physical Therapy is an out-of-network provider. This means that we do not take any form of insurance. We advise that you call your insurance provider and ask about your “out-of-network physical therapy benefits”.

While we do not partner with insurance, we will gladly provide you with the appropriate documents and assistance if you choose to file a claim.

In addition, we accept all FSA and HSA cards so that you can utilize the benefits given to you from your health coverage while still receiving superior care.

What does this mean for you?

Decisions about your care are between you and your doctor. You will never be told “We could but insurance won’t cover it.”

Your appointments will ALWAYS be 100% with your doctor.

Concierge service is at your fingertips. Use our app, text, email, or call when you have questions, concerns, or just want an accountability check-in.

Your physical therapy will have a seamless transition to fitness, whether that is through our Preperformance program, in collaboration with your preferred fitness coach, or as you “graduate” to independent exercise.

What is Direct Access?

In Virginia, individuals may seek the services of a skilled physical therapist for up to 60 days without a medical referral. This means that there are no extra steps between you and your physical therapist. Should you require skilled PT beyond 60 days, we will require a medical referral.

We do our best to improve your condition as quickly as possible. If we have concerns about the progress you are making or should your symptoms raise any red flags, we will discuss with you your options for further medical care. This is our way of ensuring your safety and receiving the best care possible at all times. Our priority is your health- we welcome all healthcare providers that you choose to have on your team!
